THE Camden Haven community is being invited to attend a town meeting on the Draft Laurieton Town Centre Master Plan, hosted by the Camden Haven Chamber of Commerce.
The meeting will focus on gathering feedback from residents on key aspects of the plan to assist the Chamber in preparing its submission to Port Macquarie-Hastings Council.
It will also provide an opportunity for attendees to learn how to make their own submissions and where to access relevant information.
The meeting will be held on Tuesday, 12 May in the Mountainview Room at Laurieton United Services Club (LUSC) from 5:30pm to 7:00pm.
Hard copies of the plan will be available for viewing on the night.
In addition, LUSC has printed three copies which are currently available at the club for public viewing.
The Chamber has already received feedback on several key issues, including proposed parking reductions, beautification projects, ongoing maintenance, and concerns around planning permissions.
Laurieton business owner Amy Vandenhurk of Bower On Lake said, “This is an opportunity to review and discuss the town centre master plan and breathe new life into it through beautification and improved community facilities.”
Chamber President Luke Hadfield said the session would aim to cover a broad range of issues.
“We know there are obvious issues residents justifiably have and we don’t want to spend an hour and a half focusing only on parking or similar points of contention,” he said.
“The Chamber wants to address as much as possible to assist us with our submission.”
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council will also be hosting several community pop-up sessions to engage with residents. These will take place on Sunday, 17 May from 8:00am to 1:00pm at the Riverwalk Foreshore Markets, Tuesday, 26 May from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Coles Laurieton, and Tuesday, 2 June from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Laurieton Library.
Public consultation on the Draft Laurieton Town Centre Master Plan closes on Friday, 5 June 2026.
