Lottery luck in step with life

A PORT Macquarie man, his wife and family are celebrating a $102,000 Lucky Lotteries win that landed on the same day his shoes gave out.

The man scored first prize in a Super Jackpot draw on Monday, 7 September 2026, and also picked up two consolation prizes of $1000.

When an official from The Lott called to break the news, the winner initially ignored the call before checking his app, contacting his wife and quickly ringing back.

“It’s unbelievable!” he said.

“Even when I opened the app, I didn’t quite believe it.

“It’s a good time because my shoes actually broke this morning, so I need new ones.

“I rang my wife and I said ‘Look, I’m not sure what’s going on!’ and I sent her a screenshot and she said, ‘You better call them back and check it’s right!’.

“I’m so glad you’ve confirmed it now. I just can’t believe it.”

“Once we won $500 and even then, the newsagency said, ‘You’re more excited than a division one winner we had!’. “So you can imagine how we’re feeling about $100,000.”

In addition to sporting a dazzling new pair of shoes, the kind-hearted man said he’d help family and donate money to charity.

“We’ll be able to help family and donate some to charity too,” he said.

“This is amazing.

“Gosh, I have to let it sink in now. Thank you!”
