Early learning opportunities for Moorland children

THE new Moorland Public Preschool has opened its doors, providing local children with greater access to quality early childhood education and giving families more opportunities to prepare their children for a successful start to school.

Port Macquarie MP Robert Dwyer said the new preschool would be a valuable addition to the Moorland community, supporting local families and helping young children build strong foundations before they begin kindergarten.

“Access to quality early childhood education can make a significant difference to a child’s development and future learning outcomes,” Mr Dwyer said.

“The opening of Moorland Public Preschool is fantastic news for local families and demonstrates a commitment to ensuring children in our region have access to the educational opportunities they deserve.”

Mr Dwyer said the new facility would provide families with greater convenience while supporting children as they transitioned into formal schooling.

“My three children had the pleasure of attending a preschool adjoining the primary school and the transition from pre-school to primary was seamless,” Mr Dwyer said.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for the children, families and teachers to grow from the same experience.

“Having a preschool connected to a local school environment helps children become familiar with their future learning surroundings and can make the move into kindergarten a more positive experience.

“Moorland is a proud, close-knit community and I know many local families will welcome this investment in the future of their children.”

Mr Dwyer said local educators, parents and community members had long recognised the importance of early childhood education and the positive role it played in supporting children’s social, emotional and educational development.

“I look forward to seeing the benefits this facility delivers for families across the Moorland community for many years to come,” Mr Dwyer said.
