THE Camden Haven Snapper Classic is set to return later this month after dangerous weather forced the postponement of its original dates.
The popular annual fishing competition will now be held from August 27 to 29, with the preferred competition days on August 28 and 29.
Each year, the event attracts anglers from across the region and beyond, providing an opportunity to experience the renowned fishing grounds of the Camden Haven while competing for prizes.
This year there is more than $20,000 in cash and prizes for anglers to compete for.
This year’s event is supported by more than 40 sponsors, most of them local businesses, highlighting the strong community backing behind the competition.
Event organiser Brice Hayward said the competition was about much more than fishing.
“This event not only brings people together, but it brings people to our area and allows them to see our beautiful Camden Haven,” he said.
“Every year we bring legends together for a massive weekend of offshore action and unbeatable vibes.”
As well as showcasing the region’s world-class fishing, the event aims to encourage visitors to explore the Camden Haven and support local businesses during their stay.
Entries are now open and will close on August 4.
