THE Camden Haven United Hospital Auxiliary (UHA) has elected Stephanie Wright as its new President, following Kathy Geary’s two-year term leading the volunteer organisation.
The new committee was elected at the branch’s Annual General Meeting, held last month at its new meeting venue, Laurieton United Services Club.
Mrs Wright takes over a branch that has continued to make a significant contribution to local healthcare through fundraising and volunteer support.
Returning Secretary Bronwyne Guymer will continue in the role she has held for the past six years, while Janet Haddrick has been elected Vice-president.
Other committee members include Wendy Carter as Treasurer and Assistant Secretary, John Wright as Assistant Treasurer, Margaret Barden as Raffle Coordinator, and Lynn Dick as Welfare Officer and Assistant Raffle Coordinator.
Outgoing President Kathy Geary thanked volunteers for their dedication throughout the past year and praised their fundraising efforts.
The branch donated $5,802.59 worth of medical equipment to Wauchope District Memorial Hospital and Port Macquarie’s Mid North Coast Cancer Institute.
Mrs Geary also acknowledged the community’s support during the branch’s recent relocation.
“Thank you to the members of our branch who worked tirelessly to pack and prepare for our move to Laurieton United Services Club,” Mrs Geary said.
“More than $4,500 was raised during the moving sale and will be used to purchase equipment items for our local hospitals.”
North East Regional Representative Dee Hunter congratulated members on another successful year and spoke about the strong friendships that underpin the auxiliary.
Ms Hunter also presented Lynn Dick with Camden Haven UHA branch Life Membership in recognition of her service.
Mid North Coast Local Health District Corporate Relations Coordinator Tiffany Ball congratulated the branch on settling into its new home.
“It is great to see that you have settled into your new meeting place,” Ms Ball said.
“Thank you for your support of both Port Macquarie’s Mid North Coast Cancer Institute and Wauchope District Memorial Hospital.
“I wish you all the best with your fundraising efforts in the upcoming year.”
The Camden Haven United Hospital Auxiliary is encouraging new volunteers to join the group and help support local hospitals through fundraising and community initiatives.
