‘Comeback’ exhibition of Bonny Hills Artists a success

THE return of the “Bonny Hills Artists” to the Wauchope Bonny Hills Surf Club has been an “outstanding success”.

More than 400 people visited the club over the Easter long weekend to view the works of Caroline Baker, Debbie Sarkoezy, Linda Lockyer, Brian Barker, Julie Mills, Jan Wilson, Karen Cornish, Rita Carosi, Graeme Cox, Sue Poleweski Jones and Thelma Farmer.

The exhibition represented the group’s “comeback” after a six-year break.

“There was a lovely, vibrant atmosphere throughout the four-day event,” Rita Carosi told News Of The Area.

“The opening on Easter Saturday was very well attended.

“Brian Barker welcomed our guests and introduced David Trotter, President of the WBHSLS Club, who officially opened the exhibition.

“On Sunday afternoon, visitors also enjoyed a painting demonstration by Brian, which generated a great deal of interest.”

Rita said that as a result of this “wonderful outcome” the group was able to donate more than $1,200 to the surf club.

They now hope to do it again next year.
