THE beauty of the Camden Haven district inspired local artist Kylie Johnson to create Bush Walk Bago Gums.

Her landscape captured the attention of patrons at the recent Hastings Valley Fine Art Association exhibition at Laurieton United Services Club, earning her the People’s Choice Award.

“The Camden Haven and surrounding areas provide so much inspiration,” Johnson said.

“People who visit like to take home a memento of the area, so I love to paint the local scenery.

“Winning the People’s Choice Award is a great confidence boost. It’s wonderful knowing people love what I paint.”

She hopes her win encourages others to explore their own artistic creativity, regardless of experience or skill level.

Anyone interested in learning more about art should connect with the local art community.

“If anyone wanted to try painting, they should definitely give it a go,” she said.
