SHAKE Rattle‘n’Roll – the only 50s and 60s rock ‘n’ roll show of its kind – is set to tour to the Mid North Coast with shows in Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie later this month.
Currently in Victoria, the company is heading north for two big shows.
On Saturday 29 August at 8pm they will be in Coffs Harbour at C.ex.
On Sunday 30 August there will be a matinee performance at 1.30pm at Panthers Auditorium in Port Macquarie.
Audiences can expect a big stage spectacular with lots of rock’n’roll music, dancing and razzle dazzle.
The music features well-known hits from Elvis, Bobby Darin, Sam Cooke, Johnny O’Keefe, Frankie Valli, Cliff Richard, Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, The Everly Brothers, Connie Francis, Roy Orbison, Grease and more.
Five fabulous singers, eight champion ballroom dancers, hundreds of spectacular show costumes, and all the big dance numbers to take audiences back to the 50s and 60s.
There is a real sense of joy in the music and this appeals to audiences of all ages, who sing along to their favourites.
Jonathan Guthrie-Jones, an accountant by trade, is touring with the show.
Well-known to Melbourne audiences, Jonathan hails from a musical theatre family.
He has been performing in the show for 13 years.
”We perform in theatres and clubs all over regional Australia,” said Jonathan.
“Every place has such a unique energy and vibe and you can feel that when you step into venues and talk to audiences afterwards.
“This is such a happy story and we’re having a fantastic time on stage.
“We’re performers at heart, in the old-fashioned sense, and we love what we’re doing.”
Nina Randall, co-founder and executive producer with Dion and Randall International, has 40 years of experience in the industry.
“Since COVID we needed to focus locally with national and regional tours,”said Ms Randall.
“We’re based in Melbourne but we’ve travelled right across Australia, with successful seasons of lots of big shows at state theatres and touring to many regional theatres.”
