Wauchope fundraiser to support flooded farmers and businesses

RAISING vital funds for flood-affected farmers and agricultural businesses across the Port Macquarie-Hastings region, the “Hastings + Hinterland Town and Country Ball” is coming to Wauchope on Saturday, 20 September.

Held from 5:30pm at the Wauchope Showground, the event has been organised as “a show of strength, support, and solidarity for the heart of the Mid North Coast”.

Hosted by Dr Kristy Kostalas and supported by the Wauchope Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the night will feature live music, local entertainment, a charity auction, raffles, and giveaways.

“The Ball will showcase the best of our region’s country charm and generosity,” said a Chamber spokesperson.

“Every ticket sold, every item donated, every dollar raised makes a real difference to farming families rebuilding their lives.”

The Chamber is calling on local businesses, community groups and individuals to be part of the effort through sponsorship, donations, or volunteering.

“We know our community is incredibly generous,” the spokesperson added.

“This event is a chance for your business to stand alongside our farmers and regional producers, and to be recognised for that support.

“Whether it’s financial sponsorship, providing auction items, or helping behind the scenes.”

After the Ball, affected farmers and agricultural businesses in the Port-Macquarie Hastings LGA will be invited to apply for targeted support.

“The recovery journey is long, and it doesn’t end when the waters recede,” the spokesperson said.

“Our goal is to ease the burden, restore resilience, and keep the agricultural heart of our region strong.”

Tickets are available now through Humanitix.
