Camden Haven High School surf program receives equipment boost

THE Camden Haven High School (CHHS) surf program has received a major boost with the delivery of brand new soft surfboards.

The flashy red and green boards are now ready to be used across the school’s surf skills and safety program and by students in the Targeted Sports Program (TSP).

“With a strong history of students helping in real-life rescues, we’re excited to see their skills continue to grow,” CHHS said in a statement to social media.

In a further boost, legropes were donated to the program by Community SBK (Shark Bite Kits), a local non-profit launched to improve emergency response at isolated beaches in the Port Macquarie-Hastings region.

“Huge thanks to Community SBK for donating new leg ropes, [it is] awesome to see our community supporting our students,” CHHS said.

Any local business interested in supporting the program with further equipment can reach out to the school.

“We’re working towards a rescue board and more equipment!” the school said in a statement.
