Camden Haven business chamber launches campaign to boost tourism

CAMDEN Haven Chamber of Commerce is turning the spotlight on the region’s natural beauty with the launch of a new promotional video aimed at attracting visitors, supporting local businesses and encouraging more people to discover what the area has to offer.

Launched this week across the Chamber’s social media platforms, the 90-second Visit Camden Haven video showcases the picturesque towns, waterways, coastline and natural attractions that make it one of the Mid North Coast’s most appealing destinations.

The video is the first instalment of a planned two-part promotional series, with the initial release focusing on the region’s scenic beauty and the second set to explore the many activities and experiences available to visitors.

The initiative comes at a time when businesses across the region continue to navigate challenging economic conditions, with cost-of-living pressures, changing consumer spending habits and rising operating expenses placing additional strain on the local economy.

Recognising these challenges, the chamber decided to invest in a promotional campaign designed to encourage visitation and help generate additional economic activity

Chamber President Luke Hadfield said the initiative reflected the organisation’s determination to take practical steps to support its business community, even when many of the economic challenges facing businesses were beyond local control.

“We know that businesses are doing it tough, and many of the pressures they are facing are driven by circumstances well beyond the control of our local community,” Mr Hadfield said.

“We can’t control interest rates, household spending or the broader economic environment, but what we can do is look for opportunities to promote our region, encourage people to visit and give our businesses the best possible chance to succeed.

“This project is an example of us identifying something practical we can do to make a positive difference.”

Mr Hadfield said tourism remained an important contributor to the Camden Haven economy, with visitors supporting a broad range of businesses, including accommodation providers, cafes, restaurants, retailers and tourism operators.

The video was produced by local creative business and Chamber member White Stag Media, keeping the production within the region and providing another example of local businesses supporting one another.

While the first video highlights the region’s natural environment, the second instalment will place a greater emphasis on the activities and experiences that make the Camden Haven an attractive holiday destination.

Together, the two videos are intended to provide complementary promotional material that can be used across the Chamber’s digital platforms and in targeted marketing campaigns aimed at prospective visitors.

Mr Hadfield said the project was about more than simply producing an attractive video, with the Chamber intending to use the content as a tool to promote the region beyond its existing audience.

The chamber is encouraging residents, businesses and community organisations to help extend the campaign’s reach by watching and sharing the video through their own social media networks.

The first Visit Camden Haven promotional video is available to view on the Camden Haven Chamber of Commerce’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
