CLUBS across the Port Macquarie-Hastings are encouraged to apply for funding to boost the number of women and girls in sport.
Under the Play Her Way Innovation Program, the NSW Government is making $500,000 available for participation initiatives.
Member for Port Macquarie Robert Dwyer said the program provides a valuable opportunity for organisations to break down barriers and create more inclusive environments.
“Women and girls deserve equal opportunities to participate, lead, and build careers in sport,” he said.
The program follows the success of the Her Sport Her Way grants and is focused on delivering long-term improvements.
Funding is available across four streams:
– Career Activations: promotes awareness of career opportunities in sport.
– Career Offerings: strengthens pathways and support for young women pursuing careers in sport.
– Participation: removing barriers and increasing access for women and girls.
– Capability: building organisational capacity and fostering inclusive sporting cultures.
Eligible applicants will include NSW Office of Sport recognised State Sporting Organisations and State Sporting Organisations for People with Disability.
Clubs and organisations working with under-represented groups are strongly encouraged to apply.
Applications close at 1pm on Thursday, 30 April.
