NORTH Haven Hornets bowlers Andrew “Huddo” Hudson and Tim “Boss” Harris have won the Region Rookie Pairs, earning a place at the State Finals in Raymond Terrace this December.
The result is an exciting milestone for the pair.
Their win means they’ll now represent their club and the region against other qualifying pairs from across NSW.
“We really gelled as a team,” Harris said.
“When one of us played a poor shot, the other played well to keep us in the game.
“We’ve both only been playing for just over 12 months, so we’re ecstatic to be representing the region and North Haven Hornets at the next level at Raymond Terrace in December.”
The state finals will be another chance to build on what has already been a memorable first year in the sport.
Their regional win is also a proud moment for the Hornets, with two relatively new players progressing to the next level of competition.
While only Hudson and Harris secured a place at the State Finals, every rookie who took part had the opportunity to test their skills on the greens.
The club congratulated the pair on their achievement and praised its other rookies, recognising the sportsmanship they showed while gaining valuable experience.
With new players stepping up and supporting one another, the Hornets have plenty to look forward to.
