DEAR News Of The Area,
A NUMBER of the residents of Dunbogan have gotten together and produced a petition that is being circulated in the neighbourhood regarding the urgent need to have a footpath/walkway along the Tip Road at Dunbogan.
This road was sealed as an access to the new estate off Scarborough Way
It has now opened up, with many new homes and folks living in the area who use the Tip Road for walking, jogging and driving into Laurieton.
It has become a walking track, which does a loop around the area via the Dunbogan Boat Shed and the Dunbogan Take Away.
It is also a handy, shorter walk into Laurieton.
Unfortunately, this busy stretch of road offers no pedestrian safety. The road is narrow, drops off on each side, and has a very narrow verge that is impossible to ride a push bike on, let alone wheel a pram along.
Parents using a pram have no alternative but to walk along the road, which is quite dangerous – as it is for walkers and joggers.
A quick inspection would show this to be the case.
We just don’t understand why Council did not insist that the developers were made to construct a walkway alongside the road when the subdivision was built?
The petitions are available to sign at The Dunbogan Boat Shed and the Dunbogan Take Away as well as being distributed by locals.
Should any one desire to sign please contact Tony Evans on 6585 5363 or 0422 501 903 for further information or for copies of the petition.
Thanks for your help in making this known.
Regards,
Tony Evans,
Dunbogan.
