Home stretch for Beach to Beach pathway

THE 11km Beach to Beach Shared Pathway is now in the home stretch with only three sections left to be completed. Once done, this will result in a continuous off-road route from North Haven to Pilot Beach via Laurieton and Dunbogan.

Port Macquarie Hastings Council acts as the custodian and technical advisor on the project, however construction is heavily reliant upon successful grant applications.

The pathway is designed to provide safe and equitable access to all sections of the community including those with limited mobility, and to allow for exploration of the coastline without requiring a car.

Next week, the organising committee is meeting at Laurieton United Services Club to provide a planning update, and share information on their vision for the remaining segments.

Those present will include the State Member for Port Macquarie Robert Dwyer, Mayor Adam Roberts, and Port Macquarie Hastings Council General Manager Robert Fish.

Committee President Penny Small told News Of The Area, “we’d like to invite all interested residents to come along to the meeting.

“The voices of the community are needed to ensure the project remains a top priority for both Council and State Government.

“A strong community turnout is the most effective way to demonstrate that the Camden Haven is united in its request for the funding required to cross the finish line.”

The meeting will be held on Tuesday 31 March commencing at 6.30pm.
