IT was a huge night on Friday for the Camden Haven Redbacks under-15s girls when they took on local rivals Lake Cathie in a grand final showdown at Dixie Park, Port Macquarie.
With plenty of family, friends and supporters making the trip to cheer the girls on, the atmosphere was fantastic and a great reflection of the support behind the local juniors.
The Redbacks girls came out ready to play, putting in the hard work from the opening whistle and showing plenty of determination, teamwork and confidence.
McKenzie scored two goals while Eva and Bethy also got a goal each.
Bethy was also named Player of the Match, as voted by the referees, for her outstanding effort throughout Friday night’s game.
Both teams gave it everything, making for a fantastic grand final and a great showcase of the talent coming through the local ranks.
For the Redbacks girls, the 4-0 win was a well-deserved reward for all the hard work they had put in throughout the season.
This season saw Chloe Leek join Simon’s team after playing for a number of years with her previous team.
“I had played with Matt for a number of years and really loved being part of his team, so I wasn’t quite ready for things to change,” Chloe said.
“But joining the new team has been a great experience and I’ve really enjoyed getting to know the girls and learning new things.”
