THERE were plenty of smiles all round when the Little Ninjas of Kew’s Mid North Coast Karate marked a major milestone by successfully passing their gradings and earning their next-level belts.
For many of these young martial artists this achievement marks their very first step on their martial arts journey.
The students train under the guidance of 3rd Dan Sensei Anissa Hilton.
During the grading, students were assessed on their fundamental techniques, including basic strikes, blocks, stances, and their introductory kata.
These skills form the foundation of karate and help build coordination, discipline, and confidence in young learners.
The Little Ninja program is designed specifically for 3- to 5-year-olds and offers a structured and supportive introduction to martial arts. The curriculum focuses on age‑appropriate learning and allows students to progress at their own pace while building essential life skills.
“Classes for our Little Ninjas are structured so students can develop their skills and gain confidence,” said instructor Sensei Anissa.
“Our Little Ninja program instills good behaviour, teamwork, focus, determination and encourages students to be the best they can be.
“These are not only important life skills, but gaining them early can also help with the transition to school.”
Family and friends watched proudly as each Little Ninja demonstrated their skills with enthusiasm and determination before being awarded their new belts.
The celebration highlighted the strong community spirit within the dojo and the supportive environment that helps young students thrive.
Mid North Coast Karate continues to expand its Little Ninja program, welcoming new families who want their children to build confidence, resilience, and respect through martial arts.
