Writers for Writers weekend planned for Port Macquarie in March

WRITERS for Writers 2026 (W4W) will be held on 6-8 March 2026 at Port Panthers.

It will include a mix of workshops and panels, with something for every writer at any stage of their writing journey.

“W4W 2026 will offer a place for all writers to learn, find connections, and fuel creative juices,” said Port Writers President Wendy Haynes.

“We are always keen to bring together other writers in the community and beyond.

“Workshops include memoir writing, understanding the publishing world, and short story writing.

“While panels will offer insights into writing history and poetry, and tips on navigating steps towards self publication.”

A special feature of W4W will be the Literary Dinner held on Saturday 7 March with popular romance writer Fiona McArthur, local thriller and historical fiction writer John Byrnes, and performance poet John Walker.

“I’m pretty excited about the whole W4W  program,” said Susan Ash.

“[But] the Secret of Short Story Writing interests me most.

“One day I’d like to win a Short Story Prize.”
